Just remember to factor in review time. A week or more in some cases if your app uses device stuff not in the simulator.

I've read that Thursday is when Apple refreshes its lists, and the last day before the end-of-year freeze is a Thursday (the 20th), so that would seem like a great time to release... is that true, or would it leave me locked out until post-freeze? I can't find a good summary anyway of how the new/top lists are compiled.
