Thanks to all that were able to make it to the Halloween Carnival last Friday! It was a very fun and successful event. The pictures below capture some of the great times had by both the kids and the volunteers.
Next Thursday we are going to help with meal preparation and grocery packing at Food & Friends in Northeast DC. Email dcyp.service@gmail.com for more information. Details on this event as well as an upcoming happy hour and one of DCYP's favorite service projects Gifts for the Homeless are below.

Food and Friends
Where: Food and Friends (219 Riggs Road NE)
When: Thursday, November 15 – 6:00 - 8:30pm
Metro: Fort Totten (Green / Yellow / Red)
This November, join DCYP at Food and Friends! Groups to help with meal preparation and grocery packing are in constant demand at Food & Friends' facility in Northeast Washington, DC. A terrific activity, people work together to help get the days’ worth of meals -- an average of 3,200 daily -- out the doors. Our group will likely be portioning and packaging food for their Home Delivered Meals program. To sign up, email dcyp.service@gmail.com.
Happy Hour / Meet & Greet
Where: Hill Country (410 Seventh Street NW )
When: Tuesday, November 20– 6:00 - 8:00pm
Metro: Chinatown (Red)
Come meet and hang out with fellow young professionals at this upcoming happy hour / meet and greet. Drop in any time you want between 6pm and 8pm. You can also pick up information on the upcoming service projects and events. We will be at the far side of the front bar area in the booths or look for the red balloon! Look forward to seeing you there!!
Gifts for the Homeless
Where: Warehouse- Use D Street Entrance (1201 Maryland Ave SW)
When: Saturday, December 1– 11:30am - 3:00pm
Metro: Smithsonian (Blue / Orange)
We will be helping Gifts for the Homeless with their annual clothing drive. We will be sorting clothing donations at a large warehouse (called Portals III, please use the D Street Entrance) near the Mall. This is always a favorite project of DCYP members!
