[wapadc] Call for collaborator; head start or early childhood experience needed

Chrysalis Collaborations is looking for someone with head start, early childhood, and school readiness expertise to include as an independent consultant content expert on an evaluation proposal that we will be submitting on February 8th. Chrysalis Collaborations is a small, Maryland MBE/DBE which conducts research, translational projects, and develops model programs in human services, workforce development, education and health (see http://www.chrysaliscollaborations.com/).  I am teaming with two other MBEs for this project.   This is not a lot of part-time work, on a project that will last 3 months if we get it, but it could be the beginning of an ongoing partnership relationship for the right person. This is an ideal opportunity for someone experienced who recently retired or who is out of the workforce  or someone with practice experience who is a grad student or recently completed an MA or Phd in this field.  The ideal person would have:

1. Either significant direct experience in a position running head start or early childhood, or school readiness determinations in the state of Maryland (Howard/Baltimore county ideally), research experience on this topic, or a combination of the two
2. MA or PhD preferred
3. Known for on time, quality work with a virtual team
4. Able to work at home  and interact with local organization leaders/staff
5. Amenable to part-time flexible hour work
6. Writes well

Beautification efforts this year may include painting, cleaning, organizing classrooms, setting up computers or other tasks to help the school. It is imperative that we understand the particular contextual factors, including social norms, that cause child marriage to persist in the particular areas in which we work. With thorough, context-focused research, practitioners can fashion effective programs and policies to combat the practice. Recent field work by ICRW in Malawi, by INSAD in Mexico and by Plan International in 8 Latin American countries (Bolivia, Brazil, Dominican Republic, Peru, Guatemala, El Salvador, Nicaragua and Honduras) has focused on the roles deep-rooted norms and local context play. She is also focuses on positive youth development, and she's leading ICRW's work on developing global measures of technology-facilitated gender-based violence. For 20 years, she has been working with civil society organizations, indigenous women's organizations, migrants and refugee organizations and NGOs to promote women, youth girls' rights and gender equality. Ms. Puig de la Bellacasa supports initiatives aimed at reducing violence against girls and women, including forced marriage. She has worked in different countries in Latin America, Africa and Europe with Family Care International, International Solidarity, Committee for Human Rights in Colombia, and she has served as a consultant for Population Council and the European Union. Ms. Puig de la Bellacasa currently works at Plan International's regional office in Latin America and the Caribbean, leading program and advocacy initiatives that inspire transformational changes in cultural and social practices, as well as promoting gender equality and girls' rights through the Because I Am a Girl movement ( BIAAG).
