*ND-WIN MENTORSHIP PROGRAM AND HAPPY HOUR REGISTRATION 11/14*

ND WIN is rolling out a Mentorship Program and we invite you to register to participate in the program and to attend the upcoming Mentorship Program Kick-off Happy Hour. The ND WIN Mentorship Program is intended to pair up local alumni to create valuable and informal mentoring relationships. Mentoring is beneficial to both parties involved as it provides a way for more experienced professionals to give back and for Proteges to advance their careers through guidance and advice. The Kick-off Happy Hour will be a great opportunity to learn more about the program and to network with other local alumni. Please see below for details and registration information.

*HESBURGH LECTURE SERIES WELCOMES PROF. ROBERT SCHMUHL 11/8 (UPDATED LOCATION)*

Our Club is delighted to welcome distinguished Professor Robert Schmuhl '70 to present "Lessons of the 2012 Election" as part of the Alumni Association's Hesburgh Lecture Series. Similar to our popular event with Professor Schmuhl several years ago, the event is perfectly timed to occur just two days after the Presidential Election. Please join us at Clydes at Gallery Place (
707 7th Street NW, DC; Chinatown metro) on Thursday, November 8 from 6:30pm to 9:30pm. Cocktails and appetizers will be served from 6:30pm to 9:30pm, with Professor Schmuhl's presentation beginning at 7:30pm. The cost is only $5 for dues-paid club members and $10 non-dues-paid members. Professor Schmuhl is the Walter H. Annenberg-Edmund P. Joyce Professor of American Studies and Journalism, and director of the John W. Gallivan Program in Journalism, Ethics, and Democracy. He is an expert on US Government and US History and the author or editor of 11 books. A frequent contributor to popular publications, his columns, features, and reviews have appeared in The Chicago Tribune, The Philadelphia Inquirer, USA TODAY, The Washington Post, The Boston Globe, Sports Illustrated, Notre Dame Magazine, and many other newspapers and magazines. He has appeared on CNN, PBS, NPR, the Voice of America, the BBC, Sky News, and several other television and radio programs.



*ACE TRIVIA NIGHT 11/16*

On Friday, November 16th at 6:30 p.m., ACE Advocates for Catholic Schools will host their annual Trivia Night benefit for the students and teachers of St. Augustine School in Northwest Washington (Shaw / U Street). The event is always a huge hit, and will feature food, drinks, and lots of nerd-licious Trivia. Tables are available for up to 8 people, but any size group (or individuals!) is more than welcome. *ACC HAPPY HOUR 11/16*

Celebrate our entrance into the ACC! On Friday, November 16th, from 6-8:30pm, there will be an ACC happy hour at The Board Room (1737 Connecticut Avenue NW), which is a new bar in DuPont Circle. They are also having a food drive, as the Thanksgiving holiday will be just around the corner. Please bring a canned good or other nonperishable item to donate to a local food bank. Our roommate just moved out to take a short-term position in Iraq, so we are looking to fill the room immediately. · (NEW) Logan Circle - Room for Rent starting January 1. A Notre Dame grad of class of 2010 is looking for a female roommate starting January 1 with the lease ending August 30. · Caitlin Girouard is an ND '11 graduate and she is moving until November to work on a political campaign. She's subletting 1 bdrm in her 2 bdrm/2 bath apartment. Her roommate is a CofC '11 graduate and is a great roommate! The subletted bedroom is large and has a walk in closet and attached bathroom. The apartment has stainless steel appliances, a built in bar, and granite countertops. It is in a really nice, small building on 17th St NW, between 17th and 18th. The bedroom is $1250/month and is FULLY FURNISHED. *Looking For a Roommate*

· Courtney Hofman (Class of 2009) is looking for a roommate or room for rent in the Columbia Heights/Mt. Pleasant/ Petworth area and would love to live with another ND alum.  She is hoping to spend ~ $1000 +/- and has furniture! Please contact cahofman@gmail.com for details.
 
· Four women (including an ND alum) are looking for one or two housemates in Arlington. Our large town home is located a short walk from the Courthouse and Clarendon metros, Whole Foods, Trader Joe's, restaurants, shopping in downtown Clarendon and is a short drive to St. Agnes. The townhouse is only a few years old and is gorgeous! There are four floors three and a half bathrooms, a large kitchen with granite counter tops, washer and dryer, pool and concierge that receives packages and provides 24-hour maintenance. The open room is the master suite and is the entire second floor. It has a large walk-in closet and a very spacious bathroom (two sinks, separate washroom, granite countertops, large Jacuzzi tub and separate walk-in shower). We like to entertain and are very easy going. The rent for the master suite is $1,850.00 ($925/person if shared) a month plus approximately $80/person/month for cleaning and utilities (we all pitch in on a cleaning service), and $85-$100 for underground parking (parking is optional but street parking is limited and first come first served).
