| See you tonight at A BAR + Kitchen in Foggy Bottom for happy hour! The STEM Carnival is next Wednesday, May 14. The event will take place at the Rita Bright Family & Youth Center, and they have told us to expect about 150 kids! If you haven't signed-up, you can easily do so on the Eventbrite page- Click here to sign-up! We are also holding a conference call tomorrow (Thursday) at 7pm to finalize activity stations and other logistics. The annual spring carnival will be focused on science, technology, engineering, and math, or STEM education, and we expect nearly 150 students at LAYC's Rita Bright Youth Center to be in attendance. Students will have the opportunity to engage with a variety of fun and educational STEM-themed activity stations. We need lots of volunteers to run the stations, help prepare and serve the dinner, or lend a hand wherever needed to help us put on a successful and fun carnival for the kids. The Brides Against Breast Cancer (BABC) charity bridal gown sale is in need of volunteers (you too, fellas!) to help with roles including personal shopper, registration, dressing room assistant, greeter as well as setting up and tearing down. BABC provides resources to help make a difference in the lives of breast cancer patients and their families. This charity event is part of a Nationwide Tour of Gowns traveling to roughly 120 cities per year with hundreds of beautiful wedding gowns for sale. Suggested attire: Please wear your DCYP Kiwanis t-shirt if you have one or a pink shirt. Jeans are fine as long as they don't have rips or holes. Also, remember to wear comfortable shoes.
