I've had enough hassles with that sort of thing that I've moved to only downloading Xcode builds from developer.apple.com, possibly keeping multiple versions around (three currently, ugh -- 4.6.3 for compatibility, 5.0GM for iOS 7 GM, and 5.0-DP6 for 10.9 dev). If you look, you can get them all by .dmg directly.
