Halloween Carnival Planning Committee
Where:The Exchange (1719 G St NW)
When: Wednesday, September 25 6:00 - 7:00pm
Metro: Farragut West / North (Orange / Blue / Red)
It's time to start preparing for our annual Halloween Carnival! This year, take on a leadership role and help plan the event by joining the committee. All are welcome! Email Dustin (dcyp.events@gmail.com) for details.
National Public Land's Day
Where: Kenilworth Park & Aquatic Gardens (1550 Anacostia Ave. NE)
When: Saturday, September 28 9:00am - 12:30pm
Metro: Deanwood (Orange)
Join us at National Public Lands Day as we help improve Kenilworth Park & Aquatic Gardens in NE DC. The major projects will include putting on waders and removing cut lotus from the ponds, walking the forest and removing invasive plants and removing trash from the park. The event will end with cake! For more information on the Kenilworth Aquatic Gardens, go to http://www.friendsofkenilworthgardens.org/.
It is metro accessible. The closest metro station is Deanwood (orange line). There is plenty of off street parking at the Gardens for those who want to drive. To sign up, please email us at dcyp.service@gmail.com. We will send out a final details email a few days prior to the project.
Happy Hour / Meet & Greet
Where: Buffalo Billiards (1330 19th St NW)
When: Tuesday, October 8 6:00 - 8:00pm
Metro: Dupont (Red)
Come meet and hang out with fellow young professionals at this upcoming happy hour / meet and greet. Drop in any time you want between 6pm and 8pm. You can also pick up information on the upcoming service projects and events. Buffalo Billiards has pool, shuffle board, darts, and skee-ball. They also have great happy hour specials. Just ask the host for Kiwanis or look for the red balloon. See you there!
General Meeting and New Member Meet & Greet
Where: West End Library, 2nd Floor (1101 24th St NW)
When: Wednesday, October 23 6:30 - 8:30pm
Metro: Foggy Bottom (Orange / Blue)
Members and guests, join us at this meeting as we kickoff our fall events! We'll go over the plans for the upcoming Halloween Carnival, a major annual event we are hosting at the Latin American Youth Center (LAYC), as well as other upcoming projects. We'll also break into committee groups so that you can provide feedback and ideas for future events.
