Re: [NSCoderNightDC] NDAs and such

I'd suggest getting a copy of it ASAP so you have as much time as possible to review it.  And, giving it a read to see if anything jumps out at you.  Some of these kinds of documents are ridiculous, and you wouldn't want to sign them.  Not that I'm an expert, but I've never heard of the kind of agreement you mention -- rather, I've heard of just modifying the NDA to be reasonable.  Any restriction not explicitly outlined in the NDA would not be in effect, as far as I understand. In other words, I think it's assumed that you are agreeing only to those restrictions mentioned in the NDA and there is no need to explicitly state the ones that are omitted.  I'd recommend being very careful and being willing to walk away.

Hey there, A potential app client has asked me to sign an NDA before showing me his requirements. This is fine… I'm just wondering if you guys have any boilerplate agreements you make clients sign to ensure that the client doesn't restrict your ability to develop your own ideas or that prevents the client from claiming ownership of any components that you've developed for their project.
