YAs,
Firstly, due to the vacation schedule of some of the coordinators, this will be the last official newsletter of July (both for the event and housing newsletters). We will be back in August! When there are any new/updated events in the meantime, we will be sending individual emails to let you know, and post any new info on our Facebook page as well.
A couple of new items: the YA happy hour has been moved to 8/1 to celebrate a special ND guest. See below for more details! Secondly, the annual ND-DC Membership Drive is happening now - please pay your dues to help a great cause and get the chance to participate in great alumni events. Also, registration for UND Night is now available! Finally, don't forget the Summer Send-Off this Saturday and Angela Flood's Theo on Tap this Tuesday!
Please check out our Facebook page to like us and see upcoming events: https://www.facebook.com/pages/Notre-Dame-Young-Alumni-of-Washington-DC/133284260102985?fref=ts

Summertime is here again which means its time for our annual Membership Drive! If you became a member last year and would like to continue, then please renew it as your membership expired on July 1. If you have not yet become a member, please consider it because your support is incredibly important to our club.
Membership is only $25-35, depending on your class year, and helps our club provide tremendous programming throughout the year. There are many perks of membership, including discounted rates to club events. You can learn more and renew your club membership here: http://washingtondc.undclub.org/membership
ND-DC also is excited to announce that registration is now open for our Universal Notre Dame Night (UND Night), an annual celebration that features a guest speaker from the University. This year, we are delighted to welcome John Affleck-Graves, Executive Vice President for Notre Dame.
UND Night will be held Sunday, August 25 starting at 5:00pm at the Marriott Key Bridge's penthouse-level ballroom. UND Night features a silent auction, three course seated dinner, and remarks by Dr. Affleck-Graves. RIO IN DC: A WORLD YOUTH DAY EXPERIENCE 7/27
Rio de Janiero comes to Washington, D.C. on July 27th! Rio in DC is an event, sponsored by the Archdiocese of Washington, for DC area Young Adults (18-35) to enter into the World Youth Day experience and make a pilgrimage of the heart during the week that millions of Young Adults gather in Rio de Janiero with Pope Francis. Like the pilgrims in Brazil, we will gather to listen to Pope Francis (live-feed), meet new Catholic friends, experience a taste of Brazil, pray together, learn about our faith, and celebrate Mass together—all in a single night! Check out the Facebook event page.Learn more at www.adw.org/rio |www.facebook.com/DCYoungAdult or email Jonathan Lewis at yam@adw.org.
SUMMER SEND-OFF 7/20
SUMMER THEOLOGY ON TAP
The Archdiocese of Washington Office Young Adult Ministry presents the Summer Theology on Tap series: How Can I Find God? From NGO's to CEO's. It will take place at Buffalo Billiards on Dupont Circle on the following Tuesdays: July 23, 30 and August 6, 13, 20. All young adults (21-late 30s) are invited for Happy Hour from 6-7pm with a talk and Q/A to follow from 7-8pm. Catholic leaders from across a variety of professions (legal, medical, social service, financial, ministerial, etc.) will be answering the question that so many adults, and especially young adults, ask amid the busyness and distractions of DC life: "How can I find God?" These presenters will share how and where they have found God and continue to find God in their personal and professional lives. Learn more at www.facebook.com/DCYoungAdult or at www.adw.org/tot or email Jonathan Lewis at yam@adw.org.
ND-DC is taking a survey to see how we're doing and would love you input! You can participate here: http://www.surveymonkey.com/s/2753DDF
We thank you for your continued support for our club and look forward to seeing you at club events this summer.
ND ALUMNI SOFTBALL 2013
Lads and Lasses. The 2013 Capital Alumni Network (CAN) Co-Ed Softball League season has begun. Though we have a great core group that has played for several years, we are always looking for new faces who like to play some ball and drink some beverages. If you have a glove, and/or like drinking beers mid-week, then you qualify! Boom. Just like that. For more information please contact coach Jimmy Mandich '02/'03 MSA at jimmymandich@yahoo.com or Brandon Lenk '06/'07 Arkie (stupid Jimmy with his dual year degrees, I could walk twice too ya know!) at brandonlenk@gmail.com. Or both of us just to be safe. Go Irish!
