Join us this Saturday as we head to a farm near College Park, MD and glean surplus produce to provide to the Arlington Food Assistance Center (AFAC). This is a great project, and there is still time to sign-up. Email dcyp.service@gmail.com and be sure to note the metro station that is closest to you so we can arrange carpools. Ashley Upcoming Events Gleaning for AFAC Where: Miller Farms (10140 Piscataway Road Clinton, Maryland 20735) When: Saturday, July 13 8:30am - 12:00pm Metro: Carpools will be arranged For this unique project, we'll head to a farm near College Park, MD where we'll glean surplus produce that would otherwise be left to waste in the fields. This will provide literally tons of free, fresh and nutritious food to the Arlington Food Assistance Center (AFAC) which serves those in need in our local area. Carpools will be arranged. Mini Golf and BBQ Where: National Building Museum (401 F Street NW) When: Wednesday, July 24 6:00 - 8:00pm Metro: Judiciary Square (Red) & Gallery Place / Chinatown (Green / Yellow) Join us for a couple rounds of Mini Golf and BBQ at the Building Museum! Back by popular demand, the Building Museum is sponsoring 2, 9 hole mini golf courses designed by local architects. On July 24th, the Museum is staying open late! Lost Dog 5K- NEW Where:Bluemont Park (601 N Manchester St Arlington, Virginia 22203) When: Friday, August 2 4:30 - 8:00pm Metro: Carpool If you're an animal lover and/or like to watch races, this event will be a great opportunity to enjoy being outdoors while supporting a great local cause. Pacers Events and Lost Dog & Cat Rescue Foundation present the Lost Dog 5Ks, a low-key 5K evening series along the Bluemont Trail in Arlington. To sign up, please email our service team at dcyp.service@gmail.com. *Special Event* DCYP Evening at the Gallery Where: Washington Printmaker's Gallery (Second floor of the Pyramid Atlantic Art Center- 8230 George Ave Silver Spring, MD 20910) When: Saturday, August 17 6:00 - 8:00pm Metro: Silver Spring (Red) JOIN US for cocktails, excellent company and a toast to DC Young Professionals Kiwanis' eight years of serving the DC community. This year's charter event will take place at the Washington Printmaker's Gallery in the Pyramid Atlantic Art Center in Downtown Silver Spring and will feature heavy hors d’oeuvres and an open bar selection of local beers and wines. Afterward, continue the celebration with us at some nearby bars in Silver Spring. Wine and gift baskets will be up for raffle in support of the Eliminate Project. ($1 per ticket; members present will receive a complimentary ticket.) Items in the raffle include an exclusive wine tasting for 20 people at Total Wine & Spirits (Valued at $500) as well as gift baskets and tastings at Oak Barrel Vineyard!
