For this unique project, we'll head to Marker Miller Farm in Winchester, VA where we'll glean (harvest) surplus produce that would otherwise be left to waste in the fields. This will provide literally tons of free, fresh and nutritious food to the Arlington Food Assistance Center (AFAC) which serves those in need in our local area. Note that we need to leave no later than 7:30AM to ensure we arrive by 9AM, so the start time was adjusted accordingly. Carpools will be arranged.. When you RSVP, please indicate the metro station nearest to you!

Halloween Carnival with the Easter Seals

Our Annual Halloween Carnival will serve Children of the Easter Seals Respite program. Many of these children are disabled or are children of Wounded Warriors. DCYP Volunteers will run carnival activity stations, hand out candy & prizes, and help children decorate pumpkins and create arts and crafts. Each child that comes to the carnival will get paired up with an experienced Easter Seals volunteer in addition to a DCYP Kiwanis volunteer. We invite you to join us in making this a special, fun-filled Halloween for the kids and their families! Costumes are highly encouraged!! Volunteers are asked to arrive by 9:30 AM. This event is Metro accessible! Sign-up for the event here, and contact dcyp.communications@gmail.com with any questions.
