Your insights, knowledge, and passion are crucial to the success of this event, and we'd love to have you! The reception will be held at Gordon Biersch Brewery at Tyson's Corner from 7:00-9:00 pm (located on the lower level, across from Barnes and Noble). Pizza and beverages will be served.

Please RSVP by April 13th to Amy Walker '08 at amy.lauren.walker@gmail.com. We hope to see you there! Go Irish!

ND-DC INAUGURAL BOOKSTORE BASKETBALL TOURNAMENT  (MAY)

The Young Alumni club is currently planning its inaugural DC Bookstore Basketball tournament in May. The current plan is to have a 1-day 3v3 tournament followed by a post-tournament awards celebration/party. All funds raised would either support the ND-DC scholarship fund or a local charity. If you would be interested in captaining a team for this event or would like to help organize the tournament, please contact Matt Hopke at mhopke@gmail.com. Look for more details soon.

ND-DC SERVICE OPPORTUNITY (5/10)

As May is the Hesburgh Month of Service for Notre Dame, we are planning a variety of fun volunteer opportunities for the Alumni Club of DC. Please lookout for additional postings throughout the month of April.

We are currently looking for a group of volunteers to work with a local Catholic school, San Miguel, that educates Latino boys living in poverty. San Miguel is an independent Catholic school affiliated with the De La Salle Christian Brothers. Similar to 50 other neighborhood schools across the country known as Nativity-Miguel schools, they are a middle school operating under an extended-day and year-round schedule; they focus on core academic subjects and offer a supportive, faith-based education to those most in need.  Many of the boys go on to college prep high schools - the first in their families to do so!

Volunteers will perform a variety of tasks including cleaning/reorganizing the tutoring center, storage areas, and library with staff and a few students. There is limited space so if you are interested, please let us know right away!

  • Date: Saturday, May 10th

  • Time: 9:00 am- 2:00 pm (depending on when everything is done...probably earlier though)

  • Location: 7705 Georgia Ave, Washington, DC 20012

  • Pizza and drinks will be provided for lunch!
