Save Rock Creek Park Trees
Where: Rock Creek Park and Potomac Parkway
When: Saturday, April 20, 10am-12pm
Metro: TBD
DCYP Kiwanis will team up with Rock Creek Conservancy volunteers and the National Park Service to save park trees from the chokehold of the invasive vine, English ivy. Volunteers will cut ivy from tree trunks, while at the same time exploring Rock Creek Park, one of the District's most beautiful natural treasures. To volunteer, email dcyp.service@gmail.com.
National's Baseball Game
Where: Nationals Park (1500 South Capitol St., SE)
When: Saturday, April 27, 12:30-4pm
Metro: Navy Yard (Green)
Come out to the ballpark and enjoy the game and hang out with others. We will meet outside of the park at 12:30 pm and buy tickets together. The game starts at 1:05 pm vs the Reds. To sign up and for more information contact our Social Directors at dcyp.social@gmail.com.
Happy Hour / Meet & Greet
Where: Penn Social (801 E St NW)
When: Wednesday, May 8, 6-8pm
Metro: Chinatown (Green / Yellow / Red)
Join us for a happy hour at Penn Social, near the Chinatown Metro. Drop in anytime between 6 and 8pm to meet fellow young professionals and enjoy happy hour specials on drinks and food! Look for the red balloon!
Spring Carnival at the Boys & Girls Club
Where: Boys & Girls Club of Greater Washington (1901 Mississippi Ave, SE)
When: Saturday, May 11, 11am - 2pm
Metro: Southern Avenue (Green)
We will provide a fun afternoon full of Spring themed games, activities, and food for the 120 children at the Boys & Girls Club of Greater Washington. The kids will rotate to different stations where we will have a variety of activities. Volunteers are needed before, during, and after the event. To sign-up, email DCYP.Events@gmail.com.
Outdoor Movie Social
Where: Gateway Park in Rosslyn (1300 Lee Highway Arlington, VA - near Key Bridge)
When: Friday, May 17 7 - 9pm
Metro: Rosslyn (Orange / Blue)
This year’s Rosslyn Outdoor Film Festival relives the high school years this spring and summer. Join us to kick off the festival by viewing the classic Breakfast Club. We’ll meet up at 7pm at the beautiful Gateway Park. Feel free to bring blankets and low outdoor chairs. The screening is just two blocks from the Rosslyn metro and parking is available on the street and at the Atlantic Parking Garage for $3 after 6pm.
