 The location for this Saturday's Pack the Pantries has been announced.  It will take place at LDS Chapel in NW.  There is still time to sign-up for this event as well.  Contact the Service Directors for details! 
 Also, be sure your calendar is marked for our general member meeting on October 10 and our apple picking social Saturday, October 13.

 When: Saturday, September 29-9:00am - 12:00pm
 Metro: Columbia Heights (Green/Yellow)
 
 September is Hunger Action Month and the Governors of Maryland, Virginia, West Virginia and the Mayor of DC have issued a call to help feed the hungry in our region. On Pack the Pantries Day, Kiwanis Clubs and other civic organizations will join with area churches and synagogues to box 1,000 boxes of food to help fight hunger. If you would like to help pack the boxes or donate food, please email dcyp.service@gmail.com.  Note that carpools will be arranged from the Columbia Heights Metro, or you can meet the group at the service project.
 
 General Meeting
 Where: West End Library (1101 24th Street NW)
 When: Wednesday, October 10–  7:00 - 8:30pm
 Metro: Foggy Bottom (Orange/Blue)
 
 Members and guests are invited to attend the first meeting of the new Kiwanis year, where we will also induct new members into the club! To participate in the new member induction ceremony, email Amanda at dcyp.president@gmail.com. The meeting will be in the group room on the second floor.
 
 
 Where: Homestead Farms (15604 Sugarland Rd Poolesville, MD 20837)
 When: Saturday, October 13–  1:00 - 5:00pm
 Metro: Carpools arranged
 We will be heading to Homestead Farms, in Poolesville, MD to pick apples! Check out the website for more details: http://www.homestead-farm.net/ 
 Equal distance from DC, Maryland and Virginia, we will arrange car pool from one or two metro stations. (It's about an hour away.) If you are interested in signing up, please e-mail Sarah at dcyp.social@gmail.com. Also let her know if you need a ride or if you can drive, and what neighborhood you live in.
