We are looking forward to the DC Public Schools Beautification day which will take place this Saturday, August 25.  This is a great project where we will be involved in a number of tasks to "spruce up" Tyler Elementary before the first day of school.  If you are interested in participating, contact the Service Directors- dcyp.service@gmail.com.

Be sure to join us for our next happy hour at Elephant & Castle on Tuesday, September 11.  Also, save the date for our next general meeting and new member induction ceremony- Wednesday, October 10.  Have a great week!

Ashley

The Congress Heights Community Association is partnering with National Capitol Parks-East in an epic effort to restore the natural splendor of Shepherd Parkway, one of DC’s most neglected wooded areas. Shepherd Parkway is a 205-acre wooded area managed by the National Park Service. The park is home to two bald eagles nests and the remains of two Civil War forts, Fort Carroll and Ft. Greble. Many of the oak, poplar, hickory and beech trees in the park are over 100 years old.

Join us for this great event as we help restore Shepherd Parkway by removing debris, trash, invasive plants and debris. Sign up by emailing dcyp.service@gmail.com.
