Upcoming Events Happy Hour at Pizzeria Paradiso
Where: Pizzeria Paradiso (2003 P St NW)
When: Tuesday, July 21, (6:00 - 8:00pm)
Metro: Dupont (Red)
Join us for our July happy hour - we'll close our eyes and pretend we're on summer vacation! We're not going to a beach this month, but we'll still be heading to a paradise-- Pizzeria Paradiso in Dupont Circle, that is! So come ready for refreshing brews, a delicious slice and great people! Looking forward to seeing you all there! Look out for the red balloon!
Dress for Success Pop-Up Shop
Where: Marriott Marquis (901 Massachusetts Ave DC)
When: Saturday, July 25, (11:00am - 3:00pm)
Metro: Mt Vernon Sq / 7th St Convention Center (Green / Yellow)
Dress for Success: Worldwide is hosting their first Washington DC Pop-Up Shop to raise program funds from July 23 - 25. The Pop-up show, elegantly titled Empowershop 2015, is a 2 day shopping event where Washingtonians can come in and try on some designer brand merchandise at a reasonable and discounted price. DfS's mission is to provide both career development but also general support services to help women prosper in the workplace. More information can be found here.
Sign Up: Since they have many slots they need filled for volunteers, we are going to shoot for the Saturday shift from 11a to 1p, and if that's overfilled, 1p to 3p. If this doesn't work with your schedule feel free to sign-up any other day that you'd like. Also, stop by anytime during their 2 day event if you want to look through some of the clothing they have to offer. Volunteer slot sign up can be found here. Take me out to the ball game... La la la.... You know the drill! Join DCYP Kiwanis at a Nats vs. Diamondbacks showdown. There will be (friendly) rivalry, (unhealthy) snacks and lots of team spirit! DC Beautification Day is a citywide "spruce up" of all DC public school buildings in preparation for the first day of school. Beautification efforts included landscaping, trash pick-up, light painting, planting flowers, and other beautification efforts. We have volunteered with beautification day many times and it is always a hit. As the date gets closer we'll be assigned to a school that will be metro accessible and share more details with you.
