[wapadc] Fw: Invite for NAPA LPO Social Event at SfAA in Pittsburgh

Subject: Invite for NAPA LPO Social Event at SfAA in Pittsburgh

Fellow NAPA Members,

Eve Pinsker and I have put together a pretty cool (we think anyway) NAPA-LPO social that will bring our fellow anthropologists into Pittsburgh's Historic Market District for a meet and greet social. I am sending out this invite as both a personal invite and to ask to you to forward this invite to any interested students or colleagues.

I hope you can make it!!

You are invited to:
NAPA – Local Practitioner Organizations Happy Hour Social

Thursday Nov 26th, 5:00 - 7:00 pm
Pittsburgh Public Market
2401 Penn Avenue, Pittsburgh, PA 15222

As a student, teacher, or practitioner, are you interested in networking with people who are applying their anthropological skills and knowledge, and making a living, outside of academic anthropology departments?  Local Practitioner Organizations (LPOs) provide a way for anthropologists with diverse practice interests and employers to network with each other, within their own cities or regions, and support mutual professional development.

Whether or not you are an active member of a Local Practitioner Organization (LPO), want to help build or expand an LPO in your area, or just want to talk with others about how NAPA (the National Association for the Practice of Anthropology) can support local practicing anthropologists working in a variety of fields, you are welcome to our social.

NAPA (National Association for the Practice of Anthropology) would like to invite current and interested LPO and NAPA members to a networking happy hour social event during the 2015 SfAA conference. This Social will be held on Thursday November 26th from 5:00 to 7:00 pm at the Pittsburgh Public Market. 2401 Penn Avenue, Pittsburgh, PA 15222.

The Public Market is located in "The Strip" Pittsburgh's Historic Market Area and will feature light appetizers and craft beverages from:

·         Wheel and Wedge Cheese Shop
·         Ohio City Pasta
·         East End Brewing
·         Red Star Kombucha

You are welcome to bring guests (for instance, significant others or colleagues who want to learn more about career options for anthropologists), but please note number in your party in your RSVP (see link below).

Please RSVP (Event limited to 30 people)
