Upcoming Events Eco Stewards Discovery Day
Where: Springhill Lake Recreation Center (6101 Cherrywood Lane, Greenbelt, MD 20770)
When: Saturday, March 21, (10:00am - 1:00pm)
Metro: Greenbelt (Green/Yellow)
The first time around the weather didn't agree with our plans but join us on the new rescehduled date to volunteer with CHEARS (Chesapeake Education, Arts and Research Society) for their Eco Stewards Discovery Day! Located at the Springhill Recreation Center in Greenbelt, MD, we will be helping with the last phase of their Food Forest design. We'll be labeling plants, removing invasive species and working with their young Eco Stewards (5 - 9 yrs old) with terrarium building. This is sure to be a fun and interactive event. When: Saturday, March 28, (12:00 - 3:00pm)

Though it may be nearly impossible to believe now... spring is fast approaching! Let's celebrate the turn of the seasons at the Blossom Kite Festival, part of DC's Cherry Blossom Festival activities! The Blossom Kite Festival soars into spring and kicks off the kite flying season with five areas to explore and enjoy: the Competition & Demonstration Field, Family Field, Kite Club Display Area, Activity Tents, and Public Field. See the creativity of kite makers and skill of kite fliers from across the US and internationally through competitions and demonstrations – including the popular Hot Tricks Showdown and the Rokkaku Battle! It's time for our April Happy Hour! Join us at Hill Country for some beer (or margs?) and BBQ. Like always, you'll have a chance to connect with friends and meet someone new! You'll also get a chance to pick up reduced-price tickets ($35) for our annual DCYP Evening at the Gallery event. This year we're celebrating the 10th anniversary of DCYP with an open bar, heavy hors d'oeuvres, an awesome raffle, and excellent company. The event will take place on April 18, 2015 from 6-9PM at Gallery NK on H Street. We're looking forward to seeing you - look out for the red balloon! Save the Date
