Some additional information regarding the Area Contest. . .

Hello all! Just two caveats:

With each speech you get a 30 sec grace period so wrap up as quickly as you can at the red light at 3 min 31 sec and 7min 31sec you will be DQ'd.

With the international speech, you have to have given AT LEAST speeches 1-6 in your CC manual. All other contest end at the District level; International speech goes all the way up the "World Championship of Public Speaking."

Anyone, even the newest toastmaster, can enter the evaluation contest.

I look forward to seeing you on Monday, and it is my goal to have all clubs represented at the area contest.

1)  The Evaluation Speech Contest will be you providing an evaluation of someone else's speech - yes, you will be judged on your ability to provide an Evaluation of someone else - no preparation is needed for this, and on Monday evening, after you have listened to the speech, and provide your Evaluation of the speech, you will be expected to speak for at least 2 minutes, but not more than 3 minutes.

2)  The International Speech Contest will be a speech on any topic (though usually a motivational and/or inspirational speech is the type of speech that is selected as a winner to move forward to the District Conference), and this speech will be at least 5 minutes, but not more than 7 minutes.  In order to participate in this speech, you will need to have prepared a motivational/inspirational speech beforehand.
