[wapadc] Things to do at AAA Denver

Hi folks:

(Sorry for cross postings)

Some of you will be going to AAA, so please look for WAPA folks in several activities.

First, plan to attend the Praxis Award ceremony on Friday night. This follows the NAPA Business meeting, which starts at 7:45; Praxis should be at about 8:30 pm.

Two things that would be very helpful to me is for you to attend the mid-career roundtable on Wednesday:

This will be coordinated by Laurie Krieger and me, and will cover issues and concerns experienced by practitioners who are past grad school but still too young to retire. Most folks won't be on site at that time but if you are, please thing about stopping in.

Second, there will be a special video installation that I hope you will visit:

Thursday, November 19, 2015: 1:45 PM-3:30 PM

Mineral Hall C (Hyatt Regency)

We will be videotaping passersby about how they got their first jobs outside of academic settings. There is no schedule, which is dicey, but hopefully it will work if enough folks come in to be interviewed on camera.

Carol Ellick and I will be conducting this.

Other events include the Friday Career Fair, a Saturday night reception for the NAPA mentoring program, and more. Please look through your on site program and support your fellow WAPistas.

Don't forget to dress warmly!
