This Sunday join us for a fun afternoon at the National Zoo! We will meet at the Visitor's Center at 10:30am. Email dcyp.social@gmail.com if you are interested in attending to learn more!

Next Saturday, join us as we volunteer to clean-up Miriam's Kitchen. Miriam's Kitchen is committed to ending chronic homelessness in DC by creating meaningful connections with chronically homeless individuals, placing them in permanent supportive housing, and ensuring they have the necessary support to remain in housing. More details on this great project are below.

Where: Miriam's Kitchen (2401 Virginia Ave NW)
When: Saturday, November 23, 8:00am - 12:00pm
Metro: Foggy Bottom (Orange / Blue)
We're starting a new project with Miriam's Kitchen this November.
Miriam's Kitchen is committed to ending chronic homelessness in DC by creating meaningful connections with chronically homeless individuals, placing them in permanent supportive housing, and ensuring they have the necessary support to remain in housing. They advocate for permanent supportive housing as a long-term solution, while meeting short-term needs by providing healthy meals and high-quality social services to more than 3,500 chronically homeless individuals each year. In order to keep up with all of their work, volunteers are relied upon to keep their facilities in great shape. We'll be helping them with a big clean up on Saturday, November 23. The event time is 8 AM - Noon, however, we could end early if we have a lot of people. They will also provide pizza for all volunteers. To sign up to volunteer, email dcyp.service@gmail.com

Gifts for the Homeless
Where: Warehouse- Use D Street Entrance (1201 Maryland Ave SW)

The holidays are a great time to participate in service projects. On December 16, we'll be back at Food & Friends. DCYP will be helping with food preparation and packaging.
There's plenty of parking and the closest metro is Fort Totten (green/yellow/red). Food & Friends offers a free shuttle from the metro to the facility.
