| Because of the weather, the Networking Reception that was originally scheduled for this evening will be rescheduled for next Wednesday, March 13. It will still be at the upstairs bar of Madhatter from 6-8pm. We hope you can make it! If you plan to attend, please RSVP to dcyp.membership@gmail.com, or respond via Meetup or Facebook.
Our next General Member Meeting, taking place April 3 6:30-8:30pm, will be held in conjunction with a Street Outreach service project. The meeting will take place during the first hour, and as we meet, we will all be making sandwiches and putting together the care packages. Then, once completed, we will deliver the care packages. To prepare for our second street outreach project, we are going to start taking donations for unopened travel-size toiletries, so feel free to bring those with you to any upcoming event!
Finally, we are in the preliminary stages of planning our Annual Wine Charter Event. If you are interested in getting more involved and would like to join the planning committee for this great event, please contact Dustin at dcyp.events@gmail.com.

Young Professionals Networking Reception
Where: Madhatter (1321 Connecticut Ave NW)
When: Wednesday, March 13, 6 - 8pm *New Date
Metro: Dupont Circle (Red) or Farragut West (Blue/Orange)
Join us for a special networking reception to meet other young professionals and learn about ways to become more involved with the community through DCYP. Guests, friends, and coworkers are welcome! Appetizers will be provided. The event will take place in the upstairs bar of Madhatter. To attend, please RSVP to dcyp.membership@gmail.com, or respond via Meetup or Facebook.
Age in Place Home Maintenance Project
Where: Seabury at Home First (2501 18th St., NE)
When: Saturday, March 23, 9am-12pm
Metro: Rhode Island (Red)
Home First is an organization that serves low income senior citizens by helping with home maintenance in an effort to allow them to continue living independently. DCYP will spend a morning at the home of one of these seniors to help with projects such as yardwork, cleaning and painting. This project is limited to 10 people so please email the service committee at dcyp.service@gmail.com to sign-up.
Cherry Blossom Kite Festival
Where: National Mall
When: Saturday, March 30, 1 - 3pm
Metro: Smithsonian (Blue/Orange)
For our March social, join us for a picnic on the National Mall during the Cherry Blossom Kite Festival and watch thousands of kites fill the skies! Bring a kite if you have one, as well as food and blanket for a picnic. We will email the details on the picnic location prior to the event. Email dcyp.social@gmail.com to RSVP.
General Meeting and Street Outreach Project
Where: West End Library (1101 24th Street, NW )
When: Wednesday, April 3, 6:30pm - 8:30 pm
Metro: Foggy Bottom (Blue / Orange)
Join us for this combo event, a member meeting and street outreach service project! For the first hour, we will meet to discuss upcoming events, especially the Spring Carnival and Charter Event, and how members can get involved. During this time we will also prepare sandwiches and toiletry kits for the homeless. At 7:30 PM, we will divide into groups to distribute the care packages on the street. Please bring travel size toiletry items to this meeting or any other upcoming event. For more information, email Amanda at dcyp.president@gmail.com.
Happy Hour / Meet & Greet
Where: Capitol City Brewing (1100 New York Avenue Northwest )
When: Wednesday, April 10, 6 - 8 pm
Metro: Metro Center (Red/Blue/Orange)
Come meet and hang out with fellow young professionals at happy hour / meet and greet at Capitol City Brewing Co in Metro Center area. Entrance is at the corner of 11 Street NW, just north of H Street NW. Drop in anytime between 6 and 8pm. You can also pick up information on the upcoming service projects and events. See you all soon! Just ask the host for Kiwanis or look for the balloon.
