Can you make a form for the candy grams? The candy grams will be from adult to child. The form would need the following:

Child's name, grade, homeroom

Parent or adult name (whoever is sending the candy gram)

Space for a note to the child

If you can fit it on a half sheet that would be ideal. I would need it by Friday. Thanks.

[dcyp] Meeting Tonight- Don't Forget We're Collecting Items for our Care Packages!

Tonight is the first member meeting of 2013! The meeting starts at 7pm at the West End Library. Before the meeting, join us at 6pm for dinner at Roti Mediterranean Grill (2221 I Street NW). Don't forget to bring your unopened, travel-size toiletries tonight! The items we're collecting are listed below:

For those of you who have Ph.D. programs, this will be of particular interest to either you or your students. Nonprofit Professional Development at the University of Notre Dame will host its first 2-day conference on the current state of research on the social impact of the nonprofit sector, June 17-18, 2013. Travel expenses and stipends will be made available to up to four PhD students who are involved in research in the area of social impact. Research in the area of evaluation, tools for social impact measurement, definitions, boards their roles in developing impactful strategies, social impact of foundation funding and other related areas are welcome. Join us for the first General Member Meeting of the year tomorrow at the West End Library in Foggy Bottom! We will be inducting new members and also creating care packages to distribute to the homeless during our Street Outreach project on February 12.

Don't forget to bring your unopened, travel-sized toiletries to the meeting to be used in these care packages! A list of what we are collecting is below. Additional items will also be accepted at the DCYP Happy Hour at Elephant and Castle , February 6 at 6:00pm.

Food For All
Where: Universalist National Memorial Church (1810 16th St NW)
When: Saturday, February 2, 9am - 12pm
Metro: U Street (Green/Yellow) & Dupont Circle (Red)
Help package and deliver boxes of food to DC families in need. From 9-10am, we will help pack over one hundred boxes with non-perishable food items. Then, we will divide into cars and blanket the city to deliver the food. To sign up, email dcyp.service@gmail.com and please indicate if you are willing to help drive a group for deliveries.

Happy Hour / Meet & Greet
Where: Elephant & Castle (900 19th Street Northwest )
When: Wednesday, February 6, 6 - 8 pm
Metro: Farragut North/West (Red/Blue/Orange)
Come meet and hang out with fellow young professionals at happy hour / meet and greet at Elephant & Castle in Farragut. 900 19th Street Northwest, Washington, DC 20006 near the Farragut metro stops. Drop in anytime between 6 and 8pm. You can also pick up information on the upcoming service projects and events. See you all soon! Just ask the host for Kiwanis or look for the balloon. Don't forget to bring your travel-size toiletries! These toiletries will be given to homeless people during our Street Outreach project on February 12.

Street Outreach
Where: 1899 L Street NW, 5th Floor, Washington, DC
When: Tuesday, February 12, 6 - 8pm
Metro: Farragut North/West (Red/Blue/Orange)
DCYP is organizing its own street outreach project! Join us on Tuesday, February 12 as we will be preparing and delivering sandwiches in various DC downtown neighborhoods to homeless people in the area. We will be meeting at the location listed above. Please email dcyp.service@gmail.com if you are interested in participating. If you cannot make the February date, we will be doing the same project one night in March as well.

Brunch & Museum
Where: The Tabard Inn (1739 N Street Northwest)
When: Saturday, February 23, 10am - 1pm
Metro: Dupont Circle (Red)
Join in a lazy Saturday with fellow DCYP'ers with brunch at The Tabard Inn in Dupont followed by a stroll over to The Phillips Collection. The cost of that museum is $12. You are welcome to join for just brunch as well, if the museum doesn't strike your fancy. Email dcyp.social@gmail.com if you are interested. We will make reservations for brunch so RSVP by 2/15/13. Thanks!!
