We are now officially one week away from our Annual Halloween Carnival! Volunteer and enjoy a night filled with games, crafts, and candy! The carnival officially runs from 5:30-8:00pm, but if possible please plan to arrive around 5pm. We are also looking for some volunteers to arrive for set-up as early as 1:00pm. Volunteers are encouraged to wear costumes! Email Dustin (dcyp.events@gmail.com) with questions or to sign-up. You can also RSVP via our special Facebook event page.

Happy Hour / Meet & Greet
Where: Zengo (781 Seventh Street NW)
When: Wednesday, October 24– 6:00 - 8:00pm
Metro: Chinatown (Red)
Come meet and hang out with fellow young professionals at this upcoming happy hour / meet and greet. Drop in any time you want between 6pm and 8pm. You can also pick up information on the upcoming service projects and events. We look forward to seeing you! Just ask the host for Kiwanis or look for the red balloon!
Annual Halloween Carnival
Where: LAYC's Rita Bright Center (1419 Columbia Road, NW)
When: Tuesday, October 30– 5:00 - 9:00pm
Metro: Columbia Heights (Green / Yellow) and U Street (Green / Yellow)
Volunteers are needed to help at the annual Kiwanis Halloween Carnival! The DC Young Professionals and Northwest Washington Kiwanis Clubs are once again hosting this annual event for an estimated 200 kids in the Columbia Heights neighborhood. We will provide a fun and safe Halloween celebration at LAYC's Rita Bright Center (formerly the Boys & Girls Club). The event will include a variety of Halloween-themed activities, crafts, games, food, and of course, candy! Volunteers are highly encouraged to wear costumes! The carnival officially runs from 5:30-8:00pm and volunteers are needed to help set up anytime after 1:00pm. To volunteer, please RSVP on Facebook and/or email Carnival Chair Dustin at dcyp.events@gmail.com. Please indicate if you are able to arrive early for setup.
Food and Friends
Where: Food and Friends (219 Riggs Road NE)
When: Thursday, November 15 – 6:00 - 8:30pm
Metro: Fort Totten (Green / Yellow / Red)
This November, join DCYP at Food and Friends! Groups to help with meal preparation and grocery packing are in constant demand at Food & Friends' facility in Northeast Washington, DC. A terrific activity, people work together to help get the days’ worth of meals -- an average of 3,200 daily -- out the doors. Our group will likely be portioning and packaging food for their Home Delivered Meals program. To sign up, email dcyp.service@gmail.com.
Gifts for the Homeless
Where: Warehouse- Use D Street Entrance (1201 Maryland Ave SW)
When: Saturday, December 1– 11:30am - 3:00pm
Metro: Smithsonian (Blue / Orange)
We will be helping Gifts for the Homeless with their annual clothing drive. We will be sorting clothing donations at a large warehouse (called Portals III, please use the D Street Entrance) near the Mall. This is always a favorite project of DCYP members!
