The deadline for entries for the 2015 Praxis Award is less than a month away: July 1.
As you have read from previous admonishments, the bulk of applicants come via word-of-mouth from WAPA members and associates, so please do your part and try to forward this note to any potential candidates or listservs. Or submit an application for your own meritorious work!
Now in its 35th year, the Washington Association of Professional Anthropologists (WAPA) biennial Praxis Award has recognized outstanding achievement in translating anthropological knowledge into action as reflected in a single project or specific, longer-term endeavor.
The competition for this prestigious award is open to anyone holding an MA or PhD in any subfield of anthropology. WAPA strongly encourages self-nominations from individuals, groups or organizations wherein at least one anthropologist worked on and influenced the designated project. Entries are encouraged from anthropologists worldwide.
Award recipients receive a $1000 stipend. For application details and other information see the WAPA website at http://wapadc.org/praxis, or contact award chair Terry Redding at terrymredding@gmail.com.
