All,
For those of you new(ish) to Toastmasters, here's a brief breakdown of the available roles:
Although our next meeting is not until May 6, the number of available roles is running low:
ROLE | |
Toastmaster of the Evening | Mark Wills |
Speaker #1 | Laura Zam |
Speaker #2 | Francesca Buzzi |
Table Topics Master | Jill Vanderweit |
General Evaluator | OPEN |
Evaluator #1 | Lynnie Moore |
Evaluator #2 | OPEN |
Timer | Omer Ipekci |
Grammarian | OPEN |
For those of you new(ish) to Toastmasters, here's a brief breakdown of the available roles:
- General Evaluator: Evaluates everything that takes place during the club meeting.
- Speech Evaluator (see Evaluator 2 above): Provides verbal and written feedback to a meeting speaker (in this case, you'd be evaluating Francesca's speech)
- Grammarian: Helps club members improve their grammar and vocabulary.
For more detailed descriptions of these and other meeting roles, check out the links on this page.
And an added benefit to filling one of these roles is that you can get credit toward leadership awards like Competent Leader and Advanced Leader (Bronze and Silver). Bring your CL or other leadership manual and ask someone to evaluate your performance in your role (you can even get credit for giving a one-to-two-minute Table Topic speech). To sign up, head to the Google spreadsheet.
If you have any questions about roles, manuals, etc., give me a shout. And if you have any questions about Talk for Change in general or Toastmasters in general, you can contact any of the officers:
Thanks -- and see you May 6,
Mark
