[tfctoastmasters:539] Talk for Change Toastmasters Meeting Agenda for Tonight

Greetings Talk for Change Toastmasters,

We will meet at 6:45 tonight in the Sandstone Room at the Viva Center, located directly across the street from the Dupont Circle Q Street/North metro exit. Attached is the meeting agenda.

0.jpg

Entering the Building/Office

Although our street address is 1555 Connecticut Avenue, the building is located between Connecticut and Q Streets, and the entrance is actually on Q Street next to Raku (across from the Firehook Bakery).

The name of our building is The Anchorage, and there are large gold anchors on the door handles.

When facing the front door, the tenant listing and call-up box is on the left.  Press the "call" button then "03" on the number keypad.

The Viva Center is located on the 3rd floor. Turn right off the elevator to enter the Sandstone Room.

All the best,
Catherine

Secretary and Sargeant at Arms, TFC Toastmasters

FOR ANY NEW HOUSING REQUESTS, OR TO CHANGE, ALTER, OR REMOVE A LISTING, PLEASE EMAIL JEFF GONZALES AT JEFF.GONZALES.M@GMAIL.COM.

LOOKING FOR TEMPORARY HOUSING

***My name is Analisa Sandoval, ND Class of 2010, and am looking for  a room to rent for August 3-30.  I am currently a fourth year medical student at the University of New Mexico but will be doing a four week rotation at the George Washington Hospital Emergency Room.  I am looking for a room within metro or walking distance to the GW metro stop/hospital.  As with most med students I am organized, a minimalist, extremely flexible, and will spend the majority of my time in the hospital so I make an easy roommate!  If you have an extra room you would like to rent, I would greatly appreciate it.  Please feel free to contact me my email (m.analisa.sandoval@gmail.com) or phone (505-690-7572). Thanks! ***

***Samuel Leung, Notre Dame Class of 2015, is looking for a room to rent or apartment to rent for 12 weeks in the summer. I am happy to live with a roommate as well. I am a chemical engineer from Granger, IN and I will be interning at MPR in Alexandria, VA this summer. I'm looking to spend no more than $2,500 for the summer. I do not require too much space, but I do need something furnished and ideally either close to a subway station or in Alexandria. I do not smoke or have pets, but I am open to a place with pets. I am very organized and respectful of other people's space as well. If you know of any available rooms or have any suggestions or references, please email me at sleung@nd.edu Thanks!***

***Tom Swanson, Notre Dame Class of 2013, is looking for a room to rent, inexpensive apartment, or any other type of housing on a tight budget for the 10 weeks in the summer between June-August. I am a law student at Columbia and I will be interning at the Institute for Justice in Arlington (Ballston). I'm looking to spend no more than $2500 for the 10 weeks. I don't need a lot of space or amenities, but I do need something furnished and near an orange line station. Any references, suggestions or other help would be greatly appreciated. I can be reached at tomswanson5@gmail.com Thanks!***

***Margaret Hayes, ND Law (will graduate in 2015) is looking for a room to rent or a roommate to rent/move in together for this summer (June-August). I am originally from Chicago, and went to undergrad at Holy Cross in Massachusetts. I am hoping to find a place in the Judiciary Square area, but am open to looking elsewhere. Budget of approximately $1300/month. I enjoy reading, working out, and going out on weekends. I am very clean and respectful of others space. I have no pets, but I would not mind living with someone who does. If you know of an available room or are looking for a roommate, please email me at mhayes5@nd.edu. Thanks!***

***Walter Nogay and Marielle Hampe, engaged and soon to be married '14 grads, are looking to rent a 1 or 2 bedroom apartment starting in late July/early August for at least a year, if not two.  Walter is attending George Washington, and Marielle is attending Georgetown for graduate school. Ideal locations would be near GTown, near Foggy Bottom, near Dupont Circle, or near metros in Arlington/Rosslyn. From stipends and other sources, we have enough for rent totaling around $2,000-$2,500/month (total for the both of us). We are clean and responsible, with no pets. If any has any information on housing, please contact Walter Nogay at walter.nogay@gmail.com. Thank you!***

***Geoff Hoppe '06 looking for housing and/or a roommate beginning June or July 2014. Non-smoker, no pets, but willing to live with yours. Preferably looking for an apartment on/close to metro's blue or yellow line in Va. I tend to be relatively quiet. ***Roberto Norton '12 graduate is looking for housing. Looking for either a room in a place or finding an apartment with another person(s), Ideal would be near the red line in DC by late January or beginning of January. I work late during the week and like to relax during the weekend.  Always down to watch a game. I am also respectful and clean. If you know of a place or are looking as well contact me @ rnorton2@alumni.nd.edu ***

***Katherine Hoppe ('03) is looking for someone to rent her bedroom in a 3-bedroom apartment from late June – mid August this summer, 2014.  She lives with one roommate and the roommate's son but the son will be away for most of the summer.  Bedroom has full access to the living room/common area, kitchen, balcony and the unit has a washer/dryer and a dishwasher.  Ms. Hoppe also has one cat that will be staying in the apartment but renter will not be responsible for that.  Rent is $1000 per month.  Apartment is on the Blue and Orange bus lines that go straight to the Pentagon Station.  Very convenient location in Falls Church, VA, and within walking distance of a Giant and a Target.  If interested, please email me at katiehoppe@hotmail.com. ***

Roommates are all 25-26 yr old females, 1 is an event planner and the other two work at start ups in DC. Contact caitlin.girouard@gmail.com if interested.***

***Bridget Hilal, Class of 2000, has a large 2 bedroom, 2 bath condo in Tysons available for rent and would love to see one or more ND Alums in there!  It is on the top floor, so there are no noisy upstairs neighbors, and it is a corner unit with plenty of light. Both bedrooms are a great size (no roommate will be stuck with the "little" room) and both bathrooms are updated!  New windows, full size washer and dryer in the unit and full kitchen.  TONS of closet space in the unit.  Best of all - just 1/2 mile from the McLean stop of the Metro SILVER LINE (opening July 26).  Community has pool, tennis courts, club house.  Extremely nearby is Tysons Corner Malls, Trader Joes, Whole Foods, Falls Church, restaurants, and easy access to I-66, 495, Route 7 and the GW Parkway.  Great for consultants who need multiple commuting options.  $1725.  Dogs considered!  See link for photos, information and directions for scheduling a viewing: http://mrislistings.mris.com/DE.asp?k=3874144X6NMG&p=DE-237132405-483 or contact Bridget with any questions bhilal15@hotmail.com ***

***I'm new to the ND DC Young Alumni group (class of 2012)--I just moved to DC in Feb. I am looking for someone to take over my lease in a studio apartment in Logan Circle. It has brand new kitchen appliances, huge walk-in closet, optional washer/dryer either in apartment or on floor. Rent is $1786 plus around $50 for utilities and is located right next to Whole Foods and plenty of P street bars/restaurants. It's an amazing space and location, but I am trying to move to be closer to work in NE--spending too much time in the car each day. The apartment would be available mid to late August, and the least goes until January (but can be extended).  Please contact me at clare.m.parks@gmail.com if interested.***

***Hi DC Domers--my two roommates and I will be moving in a few weeks (lease would begin July 1).  We found a beautiful home on the Hill (10th & E Streets NE) but are in need of a fourth roommate.  We have a beautiful four bedroom, three bathroom home. It even has an awesome patio in the back! If any of you know any females who are looking for housing in DC, we would really appreciate it if you would let them know/send us their information. We are signing the lease this weekend. My email is taylorpopplewell@gmail.com ***

***32-year-old professional female (sibling of ND alum), looking for female roommate for 2 bedroom/1 bath apartment. Unfurnished 13' 6 " x 10 ' 6" bedroom available August 1, 2014. Rent is $1207 per person plus utilities. Apartment has plenty of living space, yard, and W/D in unit. Located 5-10 minute walk from Tenleytown Metro and 10-15 minute walk from Friendship Heights. Street parking available. No smoking or pets allowed.  I have lived here for a year and enjoyed this location. The apartment is mostly furnished, but if you have furniture I can move items. Email annemccue81@gmail.com if interested.***

***Paul Joice, class of 2005, has a studio apartment available for rent starting June 1. I'm doing a 1 year work detail to Michigan and looking to sublet my condo while I'm away. My building doesn't allow leases less than 6 months so I probably can't accommodate a summer intern, and I expect to be back in July 2015 so a long-term lease isn't an option. But if anyone needs a convenient place to live for 6-12 months without the hassle of buying furniture, this is a great opportunity! It's perfect for a medical intern or someone with a work detail in DC. It could also work well for someone new to the area, looking for a temporary place while they get settled in. The unit is recently renovated, in great shape, and comes furnished. The neighborhood is quiet and centrally located. More info at http://washingtondc.craigslist.org/doc/apa/4492236409.html, and feel free to contact me at pjoice@gmail.com. Thanks!***

***2002 female ACE grad renting a furnished bedroom for the summer in a recently renovated Bloomingdale rowhouse.  The house is 3 floors, the basement of which is an already rented, separate apartment (inaccessible from the main house).  You would share the top 2 floors with me and have your own bathroom.  Bloomingdale is a beautiful residential neighborhood one mile from the Shaw/Howard Metro (green/yellow lines) with street parking.  Within a 5 minute walk are a Sunday farmers' market; several restaurants and bars; a yoga studio; and a coffee shop.  Very flexible on timeframes, but only looking to rent during the summer.  $1,000 per month or $300 per week.  Rent includes utilities, use of washer/dryer, and wi-fi. Please include dates you would need in your email.  hughesea@hotmail.com. ***

***Large 2 bedroom (top floor, corner unit) with lots of sunlight-all fixed up & just waiting for it's next tenant! Each BR w/it's own full bath. Master has luxury touches and wall of closets! Energy efficient w/newer windows. Washer and dryer in unit! Low maintenance tile floors! Just half a mile from SILVER LINE METRO, nearby Tyson's Corner Malls, amenity rich community (pools, tot lots, tennis, grills).  Easy access to I-66, 495, Route 7 and the GW Parkway.  $1800.  Dogs considered!  http://mrislistings.mris.com/DE.asp?k=3874144X6NMG&p=DE-237132405-483 ***

*** Julia Hermann, Notre Dame Class of 2015, is looking for a roommate.  We have a house in Georgetown for 5 people total. Rent is $1100 a month, June through August 15th; move in dates are flexible. Close to 2 bus stops and 15-minute walk to the Metro. If you are interested, please contact me at jherman6@nd.edu. Thank you so much!***

***I'm graduated ND in 2012 and I'm currently a medical student at Georgetown. I am looking to sublease my room in Georgetown for the summer.  I live in Foxhall which is about a 20 minute walk to M street in Georgetown and about 10 minutes from Georgetown's campus.  There's also a bus at the corner that goes to most areas of DC.  I have a huge room and it would be available from June 1 - July 31.  The house is really nice with 4 bedrooms and 3 full baths.  It has a sunroom, great kitchen, deck and backyard.  There are 3 other girls that live in the house, but as of now they won't be there for most of the summer. The rent is negotiable.  Let me know if you're interested and I can send you more information and answer any questions. My email is cmm381@georgetown.edu.***

Part of the National Park Service, Kenilworth Park & Aquatic Gardens preserves a plethora of rare water lilies and lotuses in the cultivated ponds near the river. All are welcome to enjoy this wonderful day-long event filled with blooms, music, crafts, food trucks, and more! For the Aquatic Gardens, exit the Deanwood Stop on the Orange Line, lower Polk Street Exit. Contact dcyp.service@gmail.com with questions and to RSVP.
