[TalkForChange:673] Some quick follow-ups re: last night's mtg.

All,

A couple of notes relative to last night's meeting:

1. First off, great meeting. Provocative theme, thought-provoking Table Topics and speeches — good stuff all around.
   
2. Thank you, Jennifer and Helena, for joining us as guests. I hope you enjoyed the experience; I hope you'll want to be on our club "listserv" (email me directly here if so); and I hope you'll be back — and consider joining ;) ! 
3. For our Dec. 16 meeting, Erin and Laura are slated to speak and Lynnie is scheduled to be Table Topics Master. All other slots are open, so please go to bit.ly/tfcsignup now and sign up. You can also sign up for roles for 2016 meetings now. Just look for the "2016 Roles" tab at the bottom. If you have any questions about meeting roles, check with Nils (our Vice President Education) or me.
4. Upcoming events:

• Jan. 20 open house: Food, friends (bring a pal or three) and fun. I'd like a volunteer to coordinate refreshments as I'll be coordinatinig most of the rest of the proceedings. Contact me here if interested.
  
• Feb. 3 speech evaluation contest and Feb. 17 international speech contest: I strongly encourage all of you to participate in one or both of these contests for they're a great way to challenge yourself by putting you in often unfamiliar territory. Personally, I'm leaning toward the speech evaluation contest as I could use some improvement on the listening side of things. I'll provide more info in the coming weeks, but please give me a shout if you want to learn more about taking part in one/both of the contests.
