Loaves and Fishes Where: St. Stephen's Church (1525 Newton St NW) When: Sunday, June 15, 11:00am - 1:00pm Metro: Columbia Heights (Green) DCYP will be working with Loaves and Fishes DC to serve a hot meal to the hungry in our community. Loaves and Fishes DC serves a warm, healthy lunch to all who come to them without regard to their age, race, gender, sexual orientation, national origin, religious affiliation, or lack of it. Lotus & Water Lily Cultural Festival Where: Friends of Kenilworth Aquatic Gardens (1550 Anacostia Ave. NE) When: Saturday July 19, 9:00am - 12:00pm Metro: Columbia Heights (Green) DCYP is very excited to be back working with the Friends of Kenilworth Aquatic Gardens, this time for the annual Lotus & Water Lily Cultural Festival. Part of the National Park Service, Kenilworth Park & Aquatic Gardens preserves a plethora of rare water lilies and lotuses in the cultivated ponds near the river. All are welcome to enjoy this wonderful day-long event filled with blooms, music, crafts, food trucks, and more! We'll be helping with the first volunteer shift of the day starting at 9 am and will help with set-up and to greet/orient visitors throughout the morning. After, we can enjoy the festival! The DC Young Professionals Kiwanis club seeks committed individuals to serve on the Board of Directors and committees in the 2014-15 year. By volunteering with DCYP's leadership team, you can help guide the club's operations, plan activities, build leadership and professional skills, and strengthen the club's impact in the DC community.
