[wapadc] Take the Anthro MA survey

Ten years ago, the AAA sponsored a survey of anthropology Master's degree holders. The insights gained were invaluable in understanding what graduates were doing for their lives and careers. The survey report can be found at http://s3.amazonaws.com/rdcms-aaa/files/production/public/FileDownloads/pdfs/cmtes/copapia/upload/Changing-Face-of-Anthropology-Final2.pdf.

This summer, with NAPA support, a group from the University of North Texas is running a follow-up survey to see how Master's holders are faring today.

The survey is open to anyone who received a Master's degree in any subgroup of anthropology prior to 2019 from a North American institution, regardless of prior or subsequent degrees. The survey can be found at https://unt.az1.qualtrics.com/jfe/form/SV_aWa9SH21VPFCLGt.

The survey would benefit from your input, so please take a few minutes to participate. WAPA members are asked to please also forward the link on to colleagues in the DMV and beyond who might be otherwise disconnected from the discipline.

The survey will close August 31st.

***` 2/24 APARTMENT FOR TEMPORARY SUBLET MAY/JUNE-AUGUST: Hi everyone, I am a male ND grad (class of 2013) and living in a two bedroom/one bathroom apartment in Glover Park. My current roommate is moving out of town in May, so I am looking for someone to temporarily sublet at my apartment in Glover Park until mid-late August. Rent is $1,200/month. The building is in a quiet neighborhood and located near several bus routes. It is also within walking distance of Georgetown. Feel free to message me (rshields@alumni.nd.edu) for pictures and/or further details!***

***  1/22 One Bedroom Available in a 3bd/2ba Spacious Apartment in NW DC
About the Apartment: The apartment is a spacious 3bd/2bath apartment that is a 7min walk from the Van Ness metro station (red line) and across the street from a bus stop on the L1/L2 line. The available bedroom can fit a queen bed, set of drawers, desk, bookshelf, etc. and the room has big windows – views of a wooded park and lots of natural light. Each room is $1100 per month, which includes rent, utilities, WiFi and compost. There's 24/7 security/front desk assistance, a small exercise room, laundry in building, rooftop and it's super close to Rock Creek Park trails, restaurants, coffee shops, grocery stores, etc. Would be sharing the bathroom with one female.
Move in Details: Both rooms are available around Feb. 1 (exact move-in date flexible) for a month-to-month lease (preference given to individuals who are interested in staying for a year or at least 6 months).
About Me: I am a 30-year-old, have lived in DC for 6 years and I work at an international Catholic nonprofit in Brookland. I am compassionate, friendly, clean and laidback. I love volunteering, traveling (Latin America hold a special spot in my heart), being active (playing sports, running, hiking, biking, doing anything outdoors), and most of all, I love going on spontaneous adventures. I enjoy going to different cultural events, street festivals, paint nights, and happy hours with friends, but I also enjoy a more relaxing night in. I am also involved with the young adult group at my church so am often helping with different events for that. I am interested in getting to know my roommates and creating a sense of community in the apartment.  Contact me atemily.norton88@gmail.com. Use the subject line: "Interested in NW DC Apartment" and please share a little bit about yourself and what you are looking for in a living situation. Thank you!  ***
