EVENT DETAILS

AMIGOS Event at the Keough School

As the second-smallest nation in South America, Uruguay is also poised to become the second active location for the Amigos de las Americas (AMIGOS) Gap Year Program. Known to be progressive, stable, and home to stunning beaches and wine, there is a distinct, yet often overlooked culture pulsing through this southeastern, coastal Latin American country. Interested to know more? Do you have knowledge of Uruguay to share? The evening will feature a cultural presentation from 16 Uruguayan Youth Ambassadors who will be in town on their 3-week international training. AMIGOS invites you to come learn about all that Uruguay has to offer and celebrate the launch of this new program location with us! This event is hosted by Notre Dame Class of 2016 graduate, Erin Aucar, who is the National Outreach Manager at AMIGOS. RSVP here.

Flip Cup Tournament

Did you peak in college? Only one way to find out! Make a team of 5 and join fellow ND alumni at Grand Central in Adams Morgan for the Annual Winterfest Flip Cup Tournament! Cost is $25/person for dues-paying Club members and $30/person for non-members. We'll have unlimited beer for players and spectators from 8-11 PM. Register here.

Volunteering Opportunity: Food and Friends

Join us on the 16th while we package and prep food for critically ill people in the DC area. Without volunteer support like ours, the organization could not provide 1,000,000 medically-specialized meals, friendship, and nutrition counseling every year to our critically-ill neighbors. If you are interested in volunteering, please contact marykate@alumni.nd.edu to sign up or if you have any questions.

Volunteering Opportunity: Fr. McKenna Center

Join us on the 23rd at the Fr. McKenna Center, which welcomes approximately 50 homeless men each day for an array of services. Without volunteers, the shelter is not be able to be open on Saturdays - volunteers make and serve breakfast, and make and serve lunch. Email MaryKate Robinson at marykate@alumni.nd.edu for more information.

Frances Luke Accord Concert

When Nicholas Gunty and Brian Powers put their songs and their voices together, there is a delicate and powerful magic that commands the room to attention. The duo is known as Frances Luke Accord, and they are what NPR's Mountain Stage calls "the definition of lean-in music." Come support fellow ND alumni (Class of '12) at the DC9 Nightclub on February 23rd. Doors open at 8:30pm, all ages welcome. Tickets available here.
