Join DC Young Professionals at these upcoming events

 

Habitat for Humanity Build Day

When: Saturday, September 30, 8:30 AM - 3:30 PM
Where: Location will be emailed to volunteers this week.
As part of our ongoing partnership with Habitat for Humanity, the Kiwanis Club of Washington is supporting the construction of a new house in D.C. We'll have regular opportunities for volunteers to get involved over the next year with activities ranging from framing to painting to landscaping. The next Build Day on Sept. 30th will be very hands-on so please wear close-toed shoes and clothes that can get dirty. Breakfast, lunch, beverages, and project supplies will be provided. The location will be announced to volunteers this week and will be located in NE or SE D.C. 

UPDATE: We've reached the max number of volunteers for the Sept. 30th Build Day. If you RSVPd and can no longer attend, please let us know or update your Meetup RSVP. If you're interested in being added to the wait list or participating in future Build Days, please contact Stacey.

Celebrate watch ND take on Michigan State with your fellow young alumni with a game watch at The Exchange!  Kick-off is at 8 PM, but get there early to snag a good seat and enjoy the drink specials:

ND-DC ALUMNI FLAG FOOTBALL -- THE FLAGGIN' IRISH (Season starts in Sept.)

Flag football is in the air, and we're always looking for some new recruits. ND's team, the Flaggin' Irish, ,are poised for another great season of co-ed flag football in a massive 32-team alumni-based league. Games are on weekends in Anacostia Park from September through late November, and no experience or long-term commitment is required. Come breath the fresh air, get some exercise, and beat some of our rivals on the field -- we have an outstanding group of people. ND-DC-YA MONTHLY MASS SERIES AT ST. PETER'S (Sun., Oct 1)

The ND-DC Young Alumni Club is starting a Monthly Mass Series the first Sunday of every month followed by either brunch or happy hour depending on the time. The next monthly mass will be Sunday, October 7th at Holy Trinity in Georgetown for the 5:30 PM service. The group will meet out front 15 minutes beforehand to grab a pew together. NATIONAL MUSEUM OF AFRICAN AMERICAN HISTORY AND CULTURE (Sun., Oct 1)


The Notre Dame DC Club would like to invite DC YA  to join us on an outing to the National Museum of African American History and Culture on Sunday, October 1st. The club has a limited number of tickets for entry at the following times: 1 pm and 2 pm. The tickets are available on a first come first serve basis and are open to both adults and children (tickets request limited to 2 per person). Priority will be given to current paying members of the ND DC Club. To indicate your interest in attending, please fill out this Google Form by 9/26.  Please note: submission through this form does not guarantee tickets. You will receive an email confirmation within a few days confirming whether or not you have secured tickets. Thank you!


ND YA FALL HAPPY HOUR BENEFITING RURAL DOG RESCUE (Thurs., Oct 5)


That's right. There will be puppies! Join us for our Fall Happy Hour at The Brig Beer Garden (1007 8th Street SE) at 5pm on Thursday, October 5th. Rural Dog Rescue is a 100% volunteer non-profit organization dedicated to saving the most at risk dogs in shelters. Come hang out with some amazing adoptable dogs, and learn about opportunities to volunteer to get your dog fix and how to foster for a few days or long term. PARKS CLEAN UP (Sat., Oct. 14)

[dcyp] New location for tonight's Happy Hour

Happy Hour at The Big Stick 

When: Wednesday, September 6, 6:00-8:00 PM

Where: The Big Stick, 20 M St SE, DC (New location)

Due to the weather, we're moving tonight's Happy Hour indoors to The Big Stick in Navy Yard. Kick off Fall events with us tonight and your first Happy Hour beer or wine is on us! We're excited to catch up with everyone and welcome new young professionals who are interested in getting involved. Big Stick is located across the street from the Navy Yard/Ballpark Metro Station. To find the group, just look for the red balloon.

Habitat for Humanity Build Day
When: Saturday, September 30, 8:30 AM - 3:30 PM
Where: RSVP for location details
We are excited to announce an ongoing partnership with Habitat for Humanity! The Kiwanis Club of Washington is supporting a new house being built in D.C. and we'll have regular opportunities for volunteers to get involved over the next year. Volunteer with DCYP at the next Habitat for Humanity project on Saturday, September 30. The exact activities will not be known until the date, due to continuous work on the house; activities may range from framing to painting to landscaping. It will be very hands-on so please wear close-toed shoes and clothes that can get dirty. Breakfast, lunch, beverages, and project supplies will be provided. The location is forthcoming and will be located in NE or SE D.C.
