ND-DC Volunteering at the Archbishop Carroll Food Drive (Sunday, 11/13)
Join the ND Club in volunteering at the Archbishop Carroll High School's (an ACE school) Food Drive. The Food Drive has been a Carroll tradition for several decades. The school collects tens of thousands of pounds of food each year! Carroll commits to serving 300 families in the DC area. Each family in need who signs up will receive a full Thanksgiving dinner, turkey, and many other food staples to keep their pantry full after the holiday. Carroll donates surplus food items to local hunger relief nonprofits and church food pantries.
The group will volunteer on Sunday, November 12 sorting the donations at the school (in NE Washington DC). We are looking for volunteers throughout the day, from 12-5 p.m. ET! Please contact Mary Kate Robinson if you are interested in volunteering.
ANNOUNCING DC THEOLOGY ON TAP (Starting Tuesday, 11/15)
Tired of election talk? Join other young adults (ages 21-39) at Buffalo Billiards in Dupont Circle for our 4-week speaker series on "Beyond Politics: Working through Conflict to Build a Peaceful World", Tuesday evenings November 15 - December 6. This Fall we have encountered daily examples of conflict in politics, violence on our streets and across borders, and in our own lives. How do we make a change to build peace in our world, communities, and in our hearts? Hear from our lineup of speakers featuring a priest, professor, communications director, and hostage survivor. All young adults are invited for Happy Hour specials from 6-7 p.m. with a talk and Q/A to follow from 7-8 p.m. Learn more at adw.org/tot. #totdc
