Convenient to several major bus lines (96, 90, 92, D6, X2, among others).  Street parking is usually available with a Zone 6 tag. Capitol Bikeshare 1/2 block away.  Roommates are two siblings from Nebraska (both working in consulting) and one graduate student from Ireland.  We are a low key group, like to get or make dinner/happy hour together occasionally but no enforced social activities.  We do have weekend parties occasionally that may involve beverages and snacks, but week days are pretty chill.  Out of town visitors stay over at least a few times a year but tend to compensate with food and/or beverages.  We would love to have someone live here who is awesome, will appreciate the idiotic mini poodles next door, and enjoys the occasional bad movie.  Email Shannon Bopp at sbopp1@gmail.com for more information.***

House has hardwood floors, large eat-in kitchen, formal dining room, living room, downstairs den area, washer/dryer, storage, and wireless internet. Rent is $546 per month, plus utilities (average $75-$100/month). Close to downtown Falls Church, Arlington, and DC, including two very nearby Catholic churches (St. James and St. John the Beloved). Lots of nearby trails and paths for walking/running. Nice, fun, no-drama housemates, who like to cook, work out, explore the area. A block away from St. John's Catholic church, and a short distance to CVS, Whole Foods, farmers' markets, etc. Every housemate has her own room and shares the house with four other women who are grad students and professionals. The house has 5 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms, a dining room, sun room, and a garden with veggies and herbs. We have dinner together on weeknights. Rent is $550 or $615/month plus utilities, depending on the room. Nobody has pets. We very much enjoy having guests for dinner and welcome female overnight guests. You can move in immediately. We are a chill house with a respectful atmosphere and throw great parties every once in a while. We love good food, good beer and wine, great conversations--and we love having all of those on our back porch, sometimes spilling out in the yard and going late in the night around the fire pit. And there may be the occasional free concert - one of our housemates has a piano on which she plays beautiful music for us all to enjoy. We share dinners Monday-Thursday, which is awesome, as you only have to cook one night a week! Email for pictures:). If this atmosphere sounds good to you, please contact me at rachelmcoleman@gmail.com ***

This amazing program allows the eldery to continue living independently in their homes with a little outside assistance from volunteers like us. Just like helping out at grandma and grandpa's house! For those of you using metro, Seabury provides a free pick-up/drop-off from the Rhode Island metro station - please indicate in your RSVP if you'd like to use this service. To RSVP, please email the Service Team at dcyp.service@gmail.com

If your New Year's Resolutions include volunteering more often and saving more money, this meeting is for you! First, we'll give you the scoop on upcoming events and service projects, including ways you can get more involved. Have an idea for a new project or a fun social event? Input is more than welcome! Guest speaker and fellow Kiwanian Christopher Franklin will join us to share financial planning advice and savings strategies for young professionals. We'll also (in)formally recognize and welcome our newest members into the DCYP family!

New to DCYP and not a member yet? Now is the perfect time to join! We'd love to raise a toast to you at the New Member Meet & Greet following the meeting. Learn more and RSVP by contacting Amanda at dcyp.president@gmail.com

While visions of source code refactorings danced 'neath their hairs;
When out on the parking lot there arose such a clatter,
I sprang from my chair to see what was the matter.
Away to the window I flew like a flash,
Noticed the pastries and twirled my mustache.
The calorie counts I'd rather not know,

While visions of source code refactorings danced 'neath their hairs;
When out on the parking lot there arose such a clatter,
I sprang from my chair to see what was the matter.
Away to the window I flew like a flash,
Noticed the pastries and twirled my mustache.
The calorie counts I'd rather not know,
I ordered a Napoleon from the rack down below,
When what to my wondering eyes did appear,
SourceKit crash, no completion, Oh dear!

Yes, I am crazy enough to be going tonight. As always I _hope_ to make it by 7:00 at La Madeleine near Bethesda Metro station.
Merry Christmas everyone!

SAVE THE DATE: ND-DC ANNUAL CAREER NIGHT (1/15)

Please save the date and come experience ND Club of DC's annual Career Night on Thursday, January 15th at the law offices of Jones Day on 51 Louisiana Avenue NW. Registration details coming soon.

Come and meet with local ND alumni present to shed light on recent industry trends, provide some guidance on hiring practices and answer any questions you have. Why you should attend:

  • You're actively looking for a job. Even if you're just considering making a job or career change everyone knows that who you know is as important as what you know.

  • You have industry experience that you'd like to share. Come share your wisdom with fellow ND graduates who are considering a career in your industry.

  • You just want to network. This event is always a great networking event and an opportunity to meet new alumni and catch up with those you haven't seen in awhile.
