[dcyp] Thank You!

DC Metro Young Professionals
January 11, 2016

DCYP Volunteers,

Thank you for helping DCYP serve the Washington DC-metro area in 2015! With your hard work, the club served 694 hours last year. To put that into perspective, that's the equivalent of over 17 work weeks... we hope you found these projects more exciting and enjoyable than sitting at your desks!

The email below highlights just a few of our many successes over the past 12 months. Whether your first DCYP project was Gifts for the Homeless in December or you've been with us for a while, your support helped make a huge impact in our community.

At the end of the message, you'll find ways to get involved in the coming months. We look forward to seeing you at these projects as we make 2016 even more of a success!

Sincerely,

Your DCYP Leadership Team

Highlights of 2015

Kiwanis Fall Festival with Military Families at the Easter Seals

"My favorite project this year was apple gleaning. It's something unique that I've never done with any service organization. We were able to provide a LOT of fresh produce for Arlington Food Assistance Center." – Stacey S.

Cleaning Homes of Senior Citizens with Age in Place

"Age in Place was the highlight for me with DCYP this year. I remember how the neighborhood stepped up to help my grandparents as they aged so if I can help someone else's grandma continue to live independently by helping clean her home, count me in." – Wade F.

Sorting Clothing Donations with Gifts for the Homeless

"I really enjoyed the project we did with a community garden through the Neighborhood Farm Initiative in October. It was fascinating hearing from garden managers how community plots in DC work and how they are constantly undergoing changes, even outside of the growing season. I was glad I could be useful, and I also picked up tips and ideas for my own yard." – Alyssa M.

Please join us at the Early Admitted Students Reception on Monday, February 1st to welcome high school seniors who have been offered early admission to Notre Dame.
