[NSCoderNightDC] [jobs] Small side project

In case anybody is interested, an old customer of mine Ken Biggs is looking for some help building a mobile app.  If you are interesting it doing something on the side from home, it might be a quick and easy one for you.  I honestly just don't have time otherwise I would take him up on it.

The project in his words:

We have been working on an in-house development project and I'm going to need some mobile application development.  I would like for it to be a true mobile app with user account management, ability to upload multiple photos, location, and user entered data and ability to access our database for searching and viewing data.

So, if you want, send him an e-mail and mention my name.  Ken Biggs <biggs@lone-star.net>

Sorry for the job spam, I hope this follows the rules by using [jobs] in the subject.  If this kind of thing isn't cool just let me know.

[anc6c04] ANC 6C Committee Openings

Hello neighbors!

A new year has started, and ANC 6C will be selecting all new members
for its committees. This year we have instituted a new policy: in
addition to the one member that each Commissioner can select to serve
on each committee, there will be three at-large members who can live
anywhere in ANC 6C.

This means that there are several vacancies on all of the committees.
This is a great opportunity to have a real, positive impact on our
neighborhood. The committees are where all of the important issues
and new projects are discussed in detail, including development
applications, liquor licenses, and other matters.

If you are interested in serving, please let me know, and email me
some sort of information and/or resume. No particular experience or
background is required - we strive for a broad representation on the
committees. The ANC will vote on new committee members on Wednesday
1/9 (and at subsequent monthly meetings). Positions are available on
the following committees:

* Transportation & Public Space
* Alcoholic Beverage Licensing Committee
* Grants/Public Outreach
* Planning, Zoning & Environment

For more information about committee agendas and meeting times, please
see our website at at www.anc6c.org. In addition, there is a new map
of the commissioner areas. The boundaries and district numbers have
all changed as of this week. For example, I am now the ANC
Commissioner for 6C06 instead of 6C04.

Thank you,
Tony Goodman
ANC Commissioner, 6C06

ND CAREER NIGHT 1/10

A couple of FAQs answered:
1. Yes, this is specifically for the ND Club - you may make contacts for friends, but this is a specific perk for alumni and ND Club members.
2. Bring copies of your resume and business cards if you are seeking job opportunities!

On Thursday, January 10th, 6:30-8:30pm, the ND Club of Washington DC will once again host the ND community at Jones Day (51 Louisiana Avenue Northwest, Washington, DC 20001) for a Notre Dame Career Night.  This event will be highlighted by a speech by John Sturm, the new Associate Vice President of Federal and Washington Relations, who will speak on his new position and the value of networking in the Notre Dame community.  Tables will be arranged by industry, and those with possible job openings will be near the table to answer questions and identify potential future coworkers.

Please bring your resume and join us for a night of networking and refreshments.  It is only $10 for ND Club of DC Members and $15 for non-Club Members, to cover complimentary drinks and snacks.  Please register in advance.

Thanks, Go Irish, and see you on January 10th!

HURRICANE SANDY RELIEF EFFORTS

Many people in New York and New Jersey, including some of Notre Dame's own, are dealing with horrific problems in the aftermath of Hurricane Sandy. The storm destroyed their houses and possessions, and many have been displaced from their homes and will need help for the indefinite future. Members of the Notre Dame family throughout the northeast already are working very hard to assist our friends and neighbors. To those of you who want to join our efforts, please see how you can help!

Hello Toastmasters,

Our meeting begins at 6:45pm and is located at 1875 Connecticut Avenue, at the intersection fo Connecticut Avenue and T Street across from the Washington Hilton Hotel. Please try to arrive by 6:40pm to ensure that we start and end on time. If you have a role and are running late, please be sure to text me at 202-821-8074 so we can plan accordingly.

The building is located approximately 3 blocks from the Dupont Circle Metro (red line), North exit on the right. You can also take the 42 Bus heading north from Metro Center.
